Rivers: Grand Coalition Canvasses Votes For Jonathan, Wike

Ahead of next month’s general election, a socio-political group which calls itself, Rivers Grand Coalition for Jonathan and Wike says that it would embark on intensive and aggressive campaign for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the Rivers State PDP governorship candidate, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike and all other PDP candidates in the state.

This was contained in a press statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The Rivers Grand Coalition said it has the intention of mobilizing Rivers People and other Nigerians resident in the state to massively vote for President Jonathan, Wike and other candidates on PDP platform.

The statement which jointly signed by its chairman Kenneth Robinson and the Secretary, Chief Dr. Jude Nwoka, the group disclosed that its members cut across over fifty (50) political support groups, adding that the Rivers Grand Coalition for Jonathan and Wike will take the operation vote PDP message to all the 23 local government areas, the 319 wards and the 4441 electoral units in the state.

The statement reads in part, “We must all vote PDP. It is operation vote PDP. President Goodluck Jonathan is doing very well as president, he is transforming Nigeria.

He deserves a second terms. Nigeria needs him. Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike will do well as Governor, he will transform Rivers State. He will bring NEW Vision, ideas and hope to Rivers State; everything will be NEW. Already he has made history by presenting Rivers State the opportunity to have our first female Deputy Governor in the person of Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, a woman of impeccable character, a technocrat and seasoned administrator”.

The group recalled that in the past three (3) years the state practically been grounded in terms of socio-economic development on a needless and selfish ego war of the government, “we should not allow the present situation to continue.”
