PDP To APC: Failure To Unseat Amaechi, Not Hope For February Polls

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State have been told to consider other issues that could lead them to victory in the state if only it is feasible, than banking on the failure of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP to unseat the state governor.

Political pundits within the state in a chat with The Newswriter political desk revealed that hoping on the inability of the PDP to unseat governor Amaechi was never a criteria for governor Amaechi’s formidability rather the lapses of the judiciary which had already granted him that seat amidst irregularities.

The people who shared their voice on the upcoming general election across the country were reacting to comments credited to some APC stalwarts in the state alleging that if the PDP were unable to unseat the governor, is it the general election that they could win?

One Amadi Kelechi of Ikwerre extraction from the Ikwerre LGA posited that, APC would sweep the state during the up coming general election no matter the antics of the PDP because PDP was unable to unseat the governor through the state Assembly and the court.

In his expression, one Mr. Sunday of Andoni extraction told newsmen who went to town to ascertain the level of political preparation towards the upcoming election, that PDP would loss the election as the APC is battle ready to use the available state resources to fight the PDP.

But in a swift reaction, Amahule Peters from Ikwerre LGA told The Newswriter political desk that irrespective of available state resources in the hands of the APC, PDP would emerge victorious saying that elections is all about convincing electorate on vital issues of development which the PDP has done, pointing out that the APC government under Governor Rotimi Amaechi has failed in many areas as states fund are siphoned into private pockets describing APC’s campaign as an empty noise without substance.

Similarly, some unit leaders in the Andoni LGA one, Mr. Benjamin, Edwin Okikere, Ataetip Eneawaji as well as Obediah Gashion of Obio/Akpor LGA have dismissed claims by the APC stalwarts positing that the purported APC victory was a figment of the claimers imagination and thought of their plans to rig election, but maintain that the PDP is on course to coast home in victory.

However, the PDP faithful has advise members of APC in the state to let the sleeping dog to lie, warning that failure to unseat governor Amaechi does not amount to weakness of the party but challenge governor Amaechi to hold legislative sessions at the legally approved chambers for the legislative activities as well as allow the judiciary to function uninterrupted, if he is so much on ground.

Meanwhile, the PDP has called on its faithful to jettison all form of intimidation from the opposition party’s rather continued in their mobilizing spirit and be focused to achieved success. ###
