The Port Harcourt Aborigines in the state capital representing all Wakirike sons and daughters and PHALGA PDP has endorsed the sole candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Tamunotonye Adoki to represent the mandate of Phalga constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly in 2015.
The people made this indication to the public when the candidate, Mr Tamunotonye Adoki made his electioneering visit to the Aborigines under the Leadership of Chief Derrick Acheseomie and her entire body and described the visit as a welcome development and a sign of respect and humility to the Wakirike Aborigines adding that they will at all times pledge their unrelent support, commitment and loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party no matter their individual political differences.
The statement further maintained that a vote for the PDP is a vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady, Mrs Patience Goodluck Jonathan, and in solidarity also a vote for the mandate of all Wakirike Ijaw sons and daughters in Nigeria.
The Aborigines heartedly and traditionally welcome the candidate, Mr Tamunotonye Adoki and congratulate him for accepting the clarion call and gave her blessings to the candidate assuring him clear electoral victory at the polls.
The people in strong terms added that their confidence in the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration cannot be compromised with any opposition party in the state, and they as Wakirike People also the gods of the land cannot allow any form of act to betray our dear first son, the President of Nigeria through our political and civic rights as citizens of Nigeria, and further advised the candidate to be steadfast and courageous in implementing the Party policies and programs, the statement said.
In a related development, the candidate, Tamunotonye Adoki when responding to the Wakirike Aborigines expressed satisfaction, optimism and overwhelm on the mass turn up of the Aborigines to receive him and in strong terms said, he has been a partaker of grassroots politics since 1999 and have noticed the challenges of the Wakirike People in Phalga politics therefore will ensure effective legislation as well place the issues affecting the political development of the Aborigines in Phalga politics on the front burner for the benefit of every Wakirike son and daughter of the area if elected in to the House in the forth coming general elections.
Still in his speech, the candidate also upheld that ” let no wakirike son and daughter forget so soon that the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who defended the Aborigines from the political mechanism of the state under the leadership of Governor Rotimi Ameachi to forcefully evict and displace we the Wakirike Ijaws from their ancestral communities became aborted by the intervention of the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, therefore the best gift we all can actively participate to render to such person is to support her political will and direction to actualize the return of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the forth forthcoming general election 2015, considering the voting strength of the Aborigines communities in Phalga Constituency 2, I strongly believe that together we can move the mountain, he said.
In his solidarity message to the People of Wakirike Aborigines, he urged them to support the candidature of the Rivers PDP gubernatorial candidate, Bar. Nyesom Wike adding that he is the socio-political catalyst to return the lost political glory if the Wakirike people in general assuring them of a pro active legislative backing on their political demands and rights in the state capital, and thanked them immensely for their mass number to accord him the honour.
The Aborigines in her vote of thanks declared by the Ama chairmen pledged an unrelent support to him, and thanking him for the visit. ###
