The Rivers State Police Command has swung into action, following the petition written by the leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and the House of Representatives candidate of the party, Chief Tony Okocha against the former executive chairman of the LGA, Prince Timothy Nsirim. In the said petition, Chief Okocha alleged that the ex-Obalga Boss disrupted the last week APC ward congress in ward 12 in the Rumueme axis of the LGA, by using touts, thugs and hoodlums to scatter the event.
According to the petitioner, when the ex-Obalga Boss arrived the venue of the congress he assaulted some party faithful including police officers who were on ground to maintain peace and order.
On Monday some armed policemen were sighted close to Prince Nsirim’s residence. According to information reaching our newsdesk, the security men were searching for the ex-Obalga chairman in connection with the ugly role he played during the APC ward congress in ward 12 in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Impeccable source hinted this weekly that, the former Obalga boss is currently hiding to avoid any possible police arrest.
“Prince Timothy Nsirim has gone into hiding so that the police will not arrest him”, a source told our correspondent.
Sources said that the police have been looking for the erstwhile chairman of Obio/Akpor in the past three (3) days. Prince Nsirim whereabout is unknown despite the intensive search by the police to arrest him sequel to the allegations leveled against him by the APC chieftain in Obio/Akpor, Chief Okocha.
Meanwhile the Apiti of Rumueme Community, HRH Omunakwe Nsirim has tongue lashed his son, Prince Timothy Nsirim, the former chairman of the Obio/Akpor Council for disrupting the APC ward congress in the area.
According to the Apiti of Rumueme his son has no moral justification to disrupt the APC activities. Thus he called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), security agencies and other constituted authorities to call his son to order to avoid possible breakdown of law and order in the area especially during the next month general election. ###
