Madam Valentine, Others Bag Mother of Light Award

Following the pious activities of Madam Valentine Alpheaus, the first African Church Mission incorporated has awarded the title of “Mother of Light” to Madam Valentine Alpheaus on December 7 at the church auditorium.

Madam Valentine who was given the award of Honour alongside three others, Mama Belema C. Ibani, Adaba MCben Nwoko, as faithful daughters” while the only male was honoured and awarded with the title “father of Light”.

According to “The First African Church Mission Incorporated, Rivers Diocese Holy Trinity Cathedral, 101 Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt, Madam Alpheaus was a child of God from her youth. She was a member of Angel choir, also a member of Christian Mothers Union Association and a woman that has deep passion to serve her creator. Pinpointing that she was one of the first set of worshippers at Holy Trinity Cathedral Church Port Harcourt just after the Nigeria civil war.

“Hear what a member said, “Even before groups were formed for cleaning the church, Madam Valentine used to come alone to clean the church and sometimes joined by others. She has been very active in cleaning the church and environs whenever it comes to her group which is group 3, when she became advanced in age, her group members excused her from doing the sweeping and cleaning of chairs but she pays whatever her group pays.

She is never comfortable staying at home on Sunday without going to church. Though, she is not lettered she listens to preaching in the church and puts the word of God into her life and practice as much as possible.

She is peaceful, loving, cheerful and always prayerful in all that she does in her life. She lives the life of gratitude to God at all times, even now that she is old”.

Her younger brother Harold T. Alali described her as an Angel of light while other family members see her as a role model of all times, saying she has made the family proud.

Speaking to our correspondent, Madam Valentine said, she is grateful that God has remembered her by rewarding her in the midst of His people.

She prays that God should give her long life and divine health as to heal her aching bones to continue to serve Him all her life.

According to her, her being honoured and rewarded by the church is not their making rather its God that has endorsed it all.

The 81 years old woman revealed that all the people she met in the church are dead. Hinting that she is particularly happy to have seen this day, stressing that its God making. ###
