The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) true leadership is in doubt as happenings around the football institution gives course to ask who is running the country’s football House, is it the elected president or the minister of sports of the country?
Ordinarily, the hiring of a coach for the country’s football national teams is the sole responsibility of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Then how come the sports Minister, Dr. Tammy Danagogo is paying Coach Okechukwu Stephen Keshi 11 million from the month of October to November?
Keshi, for now is not having a working conttact with the Nigeria Football Federation even as he guarded the Eagles through the AFCON qualifiers, after his contract expired at the end of the world cup.
We understand, the sports Minister, Dr. Danagogo paid Keshi 11 million on a whole covering the month of October and November.
The Newswriter question is, though, Keshi is about to sign another contract with the football House, is it the minister that is supposed to pay Keshi or the NFF as we gathered that Dr. Danagogo paid Keshi 11 million naira out of the allocation meant for the NFF from the presidency.
If our understanding is right, the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick in not incharge of Keshi’s contract details even as he has not signed the contract before Dr. Danagogo is paying Keshi 11 million unaccountable for the months of October and November.
Keshi is expected to earn 7 million in his new contract deal with the Super Eagles monthly, but he was paid ahead of a contract he had not signed already.
Whose duty is it to hire a coach, for the Super Eagles, it would be the duty of NFF to hire a coach and pay his salaries and allowances from the ongoing, the Minister has taken over the job of the NFF president.
Keshi failed Nigeria by not qualifying her into the 2015 equatorial Guinea AFCON, yet, he is retained due to high influence, Keshi was earning 5 million per month when he won the 2013 Nation cup. Now, he has failed to qualify Nigeria to the AFCON and his monthly salary has been increased from 5 million to 7 million naira.
Who runs the NFF, the sports minister or the NFF president? Your guest is good as the truth. ###
