Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency Seat: Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, Promises Better Deal

DR. LELOONU NWIBUBASAAn aspirant to Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency seat, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa has promised better governance, if given the opportunity to serve his people.

Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa a medical doctor turned politician, is aspiring for the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and noted that if given the opportunity his constituents would benefit immensely as he would run an open government.

Speaking with The Newswriter over the weekend at his residence in Port Harcourt, expressed optimism that his administration will ensure effective demonstration of democracy dividends, security, women empowerment, job creation for the youths, saying if the youths are empowered, it would be preparing them for greater heights, stressing that youths should be encouraged in education; people should realize that youths who are not empowered would be the ones to destroy the country in the future.

The aspirant pointed out that he will partner with the oil industry to create job opportunity in Ogoniland and support legislation that will promote quality healthcare, fundamental Human rights etc, “saying when you represent the people, what you do is to go out there and attract the dividends of democracy to your constituency”.

When asked why he wants to represent his people at the Federal House of Representatives, His words: My involvement in this race is because I want to go to the house and press the passage of the Petroleum Industrial Bill to law. My desires to bring good news to the Ogoni because I will press forward the implementation of the UNEP Report”. Adding that he will make recommendations to the government, oil and gas industry, communities to begin a comprehensive clean-up of Ogoniland and other neighbouring communities suffering from environmental pollution.

The aspirant who hinted that his intention to seek a seat in the Federal House of Representatives is for the benefit of his people that he will use the constituency fund to facilitate projects that will bring development in his constituency, adding his constituency money will be used for decent housing for the widows, orphanage, empowerment. “It has always been a thing of pain in my mind when I see how some people are being marginalized, when I see women suffering under-development. It grieves me when I see women and children suffer abject poverty as such I will go out there and liberate my people.

He disclosed that as a medical doctor who had being in the field of surgery for a long time, he would convert his surgical operation into the political system to remove what is not beneficial to make the system function effectively for his people.

According to him, it is how much you are able to do and the skill you are able to put in the process to attract more that makes you a better representative to the people of your constituency.

The Federal House of Representatives aspirant who noted that if the electorate will be transparent in their dealings, he does not have any rival in the race, commending President Goodluck Jonathan for his transformation agenda. ###
