A renowned Medical Doctor Dr. Romsan Dressman Otogwung who joined the political race to the Rivers State House of Assembly in the forth-coming 2015 election has assured the people of Andoni of continued robust relationship, effective representation and adequate delivery of dividends of democracy if elected into office.
Dr. Dressman who was advocating for the peoples support gave the assurance at the weekend while speaking to journalists at Ngo Town, headquarters of Andoni LGA, stressing that Andoni constituency must be heard in the process of law making in the state, positing that the era of ineffective, selfish representation and inordinate quest for ego was over, assuring that if elected the people would better differentiate between quality representation, arrogances, selfishness and personal quest.
According to Dressman, legislative process is a team work; therefore he would build bridges with other legislators as well as falling back on his constituents since democracy is a representative government.
Meanwhile, the aspirant has been described as a major force propelled by the All Progressives Congress, APC in the area to deliver not only the APC but Andoni-State constituency in the up-coming elections.
A senior stake holder in the Andoni chapter of the APC Mgbo-Owaji Augustus made the disclosure while corroborating the aspirant’s view of representation while in a chat with journalists over the weekend.
He stressed that Dr. Dressman’s towering political profile emanated from his love for the youths, women, the less privilege and those who knew him, confirming that if given the opportunity to serve, better legislations to rewrite the battered condition of the citizenry occasioned on bad representation would be made other than pursuing personal benefits.
Mr. Augustus equally pointed out that the Medical Doctor turned politician would use his advantaged professional knowledge and position to alleviate the suffering of the masses who are in dire need of medical assistance as usual, adding that Dr. Dressman is second to none of the aspiring politicians for the House of Assembly seat in the LGA and appeal for massive support and votes for the medical doctor.
However, it was gathered that the choice of Dr. Dressman was an outcome of a unanimous decision of the Andoni stakeholders/Caucus Committee of the APC where the House of Assembly seat was zoned to Asarama Community.
