2015: Cleric Cautions Politicians Against Violence, Killings

REV. JOHNSONAs 2015 general elections come closer, a clergyman, His Eminence Most Rev’d Dr. N.B. John Fyneface (JP), the Primate of the Fellowship of Lutheran Congregations, Nigeria, FLCN has advised politicians to play the politics according to the rule of the game and also to avoid any act that will cause violence and killing during next year’s election.

Rev’d Fyneface gave the advice while speaking to newsmen during the harvest and thanksgiving service organized by the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Port Harcourt on Sunday. The theme of the programme, “Know your doctrinal position.”

The cleric reminded politicians’ that power belongs to God, and cautioned aspirants seeking for elective positions to avoid politics of bitterness and acrimony.

The Primate of the FLCN declared that anything God has destined for anybody must come to pass. He, however revealed that, his church has started educating members on the forthcoming election, adding that his members have been advised to avoid electoral malpractices, but exercise their civil responsibilities, and also to participate in the forthcoming voters registration exercise.

His words, “We advise our members not to be involved in any shaddy deal during the election.

They should do things that will enable people to see the light of God in them. We also advised them not to collect bribe before voting”.

According to the man of God, his church has been praying for the unity and peace of the country, states and the LGAs.

On the mission and the doctrines of the church, Rev’d Fyneface said that the FLCN believes totally in the words of God, sanctification, evangelism, repentance, and redemption amongst others.

He further disclosed that to spread the gospel, the FLCN has created additional dioceses within and outside the state, and appealed to men and women to look onto God for their daily needs.

Rev’d Fyneface attributed lack of sound doctrinal teachings to the ever-rising crime wave in the society, and appealed to pastors and men of God to inculcate the right biblical teaching, and doctrines to their members.   ###
