The New Dawn, a political pressure group within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the campaign organization of one of the foremost aspirants, Engr. Emmanuel Tubo-Tamuno Georgewill has claimed victory in the just concluded PDP Adhoc delegate elections conducted last Saturday.
The spoke person of the group, Captain Briggs said he was overwhelmed by the victory of the New Dawn in the just concluded congress elections across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
Explaining further on how, the group emerged victoriously, Captain Briggs said it was only the group that obtained nomination forms for its delegates aspirants, filed same and submitted it to the party head office at Aba Road, in Port Harcourt.
He posited that members of the New Dawn who are all over the LGAs went out, contested and won the election as Captain Briggs warned members of the Appeal Panel not to temper with the outcome of the Adhoc delegates results which is in their favour.
He wondered why some people who did not indicate interest to become a delegate at the Adhoc delegate elections would seeing themselves as winners of an election they never indicated interest to contest for.
Captain Briggs who is also the Director-General of Engr. Emmanuel Tubo-Tamuno Georgewill group for governor berated those who sat in the comfort of their houses to compile names describing them as the enemies of the party that want to stole the mandate of the New Dawn at last Saturday’s election.
Meanwhile, a check by this publication at the last Saturday’s PDP Adhoc delegates elections shown that there were no accreditations of voters present at the exercise and outside members of the New Dawn who came with their nomination forms for the party congress, no other group was seen with theirs in most of the LGAs visited. ###
