The Amanyanabo of Ingeje Community in Kula Kingdom in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Sir HRH King Barr. G. A. Egbelekro has advised one Ibinabo Kalaoriye to stop publishing falsehood to deceive the general public as regards to the ownership of Belema.
At a press conference held in Port Harcourt at the weekend, the Ingeje Monarch, threatened to institute legal action against Kalaoriye if he continues peddling unnecessary, fake and malicious information concerning the Belema Settlement and that of the Opueze family.
King Egbelekro said that there is no period in the Kula Kingdom that Opueze became a priest, but it was Oko that was a priest.
He said that his predecessor and father, His Highness, Dr. Hon. G. ESQ Egbelekro Opueze was a Paramount Chief, King of Ingeje Community and the head of Opueze War Canoe House in Kula Kingdom. He recalled that his father contested the Sara Royal House stool in 1982 on his maternal background.
According to him, his father was an Administrative Officer of the Ada Fenibeso Shrine, the deity of Kula Kingdom, which position he relinquished before his demise and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior.
He continued by revealing that his father was a member of the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Council in Degema Local Government Area, before the creation of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, adding that when Akulga was created, His Highness Egbelekro Opueze became the first protem Chairman, of the Akulga Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs but ceased to be a member when he instituted a legal suit against one chief that was erroneously admitted into the council.
He, however stands his ground that consent judgement concerning the ownership of Belema exists until the court decides on the matter. King Egbelekro maintained that going by the tradition and the custom of Kula Community, Ibinabo Kalaoriye cannot be admitted into the Chiefs’ Council, “that is why his brother Bourdillion of Oko Family is heading not him”.
He said that several evidences shown in court that Ingeje is the rightful owner of the Belema, “so Kalaoriye should go and relax and stop deceiving the public”.
