Following the deposition of the former Chief and Head of Jumbo Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom, Mr. Horace Ferdinand Herbert Oko Jumbo on the 6th of September, 2014 in a General / Mass Meeting held at Ayambo Bonny, – the ancestral Headquarters of the Jumbos, members of Jumbo Major House numbering well over 1,650 elected a thirty-one (31) Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the Jumbo Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom for a period of two years.
For over four hours on Saturday 1st November, 2014, Hospital Road, the major road of Ayambo Community, the ancient head quarters of Jumbo Major House was crowded by majority of the Trustees, Chiefs, Elders, Principal Members, Women, Youths and supporters of the mass elected Caretaker Committee of Jumbo Major House numbering about 1700.
The file-out was to conduct a one-day cleansing prayer Family Deliverance in the interest of the Jumbos. In attendance also was a team of clergy men numbering 12 led by Pastor Tamunoala Chapp-Jumbo of the Presbyterian Church and Pastor Ephraim Jumbo of the Mountain of Fire and Ministries, Bonny.
The Deliverance Session was interspersed by some traditional and constitutional due processes, including
– The Adoption of the Minutes of the Proceedings of the General Mass Meeting of Saturday, September 6, 2014.
– The Mass adoption of the summary deposition of the former Head Chief of the Jumbos, – Mr. Horace Ferdinand Herbert Oko Jumbo, the election of the Caretaker Committee as the new Government of Jumbo Major House and the adoption of the Terms of Reference presented for the Caretaker Committee at the meeting of 6th September 2014 as the House’s Mandate Document.
– Benjamin Jumbo moved the motion for the confirmation of all the Committees of the House and was seconded by Jumbo Dagogo Animieofori.
– Power changed hands when the Chairman and Secretary of the Elders’ Council of Jumbo Major House Wari Alabo Adolphus William Jumbo and Wan Alabo Kalada Jene surrendered the mantle of leadership to the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Wari Alabo Professor Jasper F. Jumbo (JP).
In his Acceptance Speech, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Jumbo Major House, Chief Prof. Jasper F. Jumbo (JP) noted that the essence of the Prayer Deliverance was to dedicate Jumbo Major House to God Almighty and to re-focus willing sons and daughters of Jumbo Major House so as to prayerfully regain the lost image of the House.
Jasper noted that the prayers of all will sensitize the bad omen of the dethroned (Chief Horace H. F. Jumbo) who has placed the image of the house in an ugly shape, saying that Horace administered the House without giving account.
Prof. Jasper F. Jumbo enjoined all members of the all committees he inaugurated as parastatals of the Caretaker Committee of Jumbo Major House to be dutiful and focused in the interest of the House.
The CTC Secretary Warialabo Kalada M. Jene told this publication that the fortunes of Jumbo Major House had dimmed and gone anti-clock wise since the inception of former Chief Horace Oko Jumbo’s administration as the Head Chief of Jumbo Major House 15 years ago.
Jene noted that the decision was reached on the 6 of September, 2014 at Dan- Jumbo Avenue – Ayambo Bonny, during a massive turn out of Jumbo Major House citizens. He pointed that the basic issue discussed was dethronement of Chief Horace F. H. Jumbo because of his lack of leadership character and because of his serial breach of the 1971 Jumbo Major House Constitution and Regulations through which they got judgement in Court for Horace to become the Jumbo Major House Head Chief.
Jene added that the prayer is to cleanse and sensitize all committees set up by the CTC and as well hand over to God’s guidance. He continued that Horace has not render any account to the House, neither did he call for any mass meeting during his 15 years on the throne.
The CTC secretary noted that at the September 6, 2014 General Meeting date, thirty-one persons where choosen to pilot the affairs of Jumbo Major House of Grand Bonny to be headed by Chief Prof. Jasper F. Jumbo – Chairman/Trustee, Arch. HamletJumbo, Vice Chairman, Wari alabo Kaladam Jene — CTC Secretary, Warialabo Adolphus W. Jumbo — Treasurer, Warisenibo Jesse Jumbo-Financial Secretary Trustee. A few others were: Wariopuorubo Rose A. W. Jumbo — Women Leader and Mr. Gogo Jumbo — Youth Leader, while others are to be served as ex-officio members and in other executive capacities.
In his view, Warialabo Adolphus W. Jumbo lauded all citizens of Jumbo Major House for coming out in en-mass for the one day Peace / Deliverance / Prayer General
Meeting.
Adolphus noted that the essence and relevance of prayer needed over emphasised based on what the dethroned Chief like a modern-day Pharaoh, had meted on the Jumbo Major House. He, however lauded all those who passed a vote of no confidence? Mr. Horace Oko Jumbo’s leadership.
Wari Alabo Adolphus William Jumbo assured that the present CTC of the house will ensure effective leadership and help regain the lost glory of the Jumbos.
On her part, the women leader, Wariopuorubo Rose A. W. Jumbo commended the large turnout of women during the prayer/deliverance session.
She charged the Caretaker Committee and other Jumbo’s sub-committees inaugurated by the Caretaker Committee to live up to expectation so as to move the Jumbo Major House forward.
Wariopuorubo Rose on behalf of Jumbo House Women thanked the CTC Chairman, Chief Jasper F. Jumbo for the new lease of life he has impacted into Jumbo Major House and assured all and sundry that the women are solidly behind the new Jumbo Major House administration.
Also spoke to this publication, the youth leader, Mr. Dagogo Animieofori Jumbo lamented on the erstwhile mal-administration of Mr. Horace Ferdinand Herbert Oko Jumbo saying that the youths are solidly behind the new Caretaker Committee led by Prof. Jasper F. Jumbo.
Gogo implored the Committee members to live up to expectation and remain focused on their Mission mandate in the greater interest of the House. He noted that the expectation of the entire Jumbo Major House Citizenry from the CTC is a well done work which the masses elected them to serve, adding that the youths may strike if they fail to perform, creditably.
The last remaining credible member of Horace decayed administration left to serve in the Opuwari Building Committee in person of Sen. Nengi G. Best who was Horace secretary, Pastor Tamunoala Chap-Jumbo is the chairman of the building committee they were all sworn in by chairman CTC of Jumbo Major House, Prof. Jasper Jumbo.
All efforts to contact Chief Horace Ferdinand Herbert Oko Jumbo to get his ownside of story proved abortive.###
