AKULGA: Rivers CP, Wike, Danagogo Blamed For Kula Crisis

KULA MURDEDThe people of Kula Community in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State have accused the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dan Bature, the former Supervisory Minister of Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike and the Minister in charge of the Federal Ministry of Sports, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo of facilitating the release of one dreaded and notorious ex-militant, Kenneth Dan and his gang, when they were nabbed by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of FCID, on October 26, 2014, Abuja in connection to the brutal murder of Chief Daomona Douglas, Mr. Igonibo-Ofori Dabioju, Mr. Tubotamuno Pokubo and others.

Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the Concerned Youths of Kula, Comrade Glad Ibigoni alleged that during his (Kenneth Dan) arrest, his illegal security men almost exchange fire with the men and officers of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

Comrade Ibigoni revealed that Mr. Kenneth Dan was arrested following series of petitions of brutal killings against him and sent to the Inspector General of Police, alleging that the State Police Command ordered that, Kenneth Dan should be brought to the State Police Headquarters and thereafter he was released without any proper investigation.

According to the spokesperson, “immediately after their release, the suspected killers are out on rampage in the presence of mobile policemen to kill one of the petitioners, Amachree Ibinabo Sonny, whom they perceived to be an enemy despite all efforts to lure him to their side”.

Comrade Ibigoni recalled that sometime last year, precisely August 7, 2013 the said Kenneth Dan was arrested in connection of another murder case, but the Rivers Police Command called it a case assault and occasion harm to his favour.

His words, “Kenneth Dan and his gang, because of their influence and connection within the corridor of power have been making effort to frustrate the investigation of the matter. Shortly after Kenneth’s release he went to the community and boasting that the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State has no choice than to intervene when he got calls from the former Minister for State, Education, Chief Nyesom Wike and that of the present Minister for Sports, Dr. Tammy Danagogo”.

Comrade Ibigoni blasted Kenneth Dan for giving false information to Chief Wike and Dr. Danagogo that the petitioners are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC. “Infact, Mr. Ibinabo Sonny Amachree, one of the petitioners is an executive officer of Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. He is also a prominent member of PDP in Kula Community. I will plea with Kenneth Dan and his gang to stop giving out falsehood”, Comrade Ibigoni said. The spokesperson said that the issue at stake has nothing to do with politics, but criminal matter and the police should take the case serious and not to play with it.

He called on the police and other relevant security agencies to take immediate action to ensure justice is done and the killers should be brought to book.
