The Port Harcourt Football Referees Society on 25th October, 2014 has elected the immediate past first vice chairman of the society, Everest Nwanchukwu at the V.I.P Hall of Alfred Diete Spiff Civic Centre, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
The free and fair election was conducted by Elder Elechi Igwe from the Nigeria Referees Association. Thirty (30) members were accredited for the poll to cast their vote and all warmly voted unopposed in favour of Everest Nwanchukwu to become the current chairman of the Port Harcourt Football Referees Society (PHFRS).
Speaking to sports journalist shortly after elections were concluded, new chairman, Everest Nwanchukwu in both is acceptance speech said he will consolidate on his predecessors success and will take the society to a greater height in his reign as chairman of Port Harcourt Football Referees Society.
He commended the outgoing chairman, Dima Dennis Charles, saying he is a role model to the members all, praying to fit into his shoes perfectly.
On his part, the outgoing chairman, Dima Dennis Charles, popularly called as Ikarika said, he gave God all the glory including all the members for giving him their support to have served the society faithful adding that he is always willing and available to serve the society in any capacity that will glorify the society.
Urging all members to support and corporate with the new exco as they did with him.
It would be recalled that the outing chairman brought life to the referees society with much development to the envy of others and prayed that the new exco sustained the tempo and that legacy. ###
