Giwa NFF Crisis: Chris Giwa is selfish– Peterside

JOHN PETERSIDEThe chairman of Port Harcourt International Allstars Football club, Sir. John Ambassador Peterside has condemned the act of owner and sponsor of Giwa football club of Jos, Chris Giwa, for his attitude of fueling crisis after Nigeria has successfully escaped FIFA ban.

Chris Giwa was elected outside the constitution of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and world governing body constitutional status which result was rejected by FIFA and the entire system, wanting Nigeria to be banned, Giwa went to a Civil Court in the land to secure an injunction to declare Amaju Pinnick duly elected board to recognize him as the duly elected president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Asking Pinnick to vacate the NFF Secretariat.

This development has sparked off FIFA to react that if Nigeria do not put her house in order, according to FIFA, Nigeria will be banned for any football related activities organized by the world football governing body.

This simply means that Nigeria will not associate with any member of FIFA as long as the FIFA ban last

Speaking to The Newswriter sports, Ambassador Sir. Peterside said, Chris Giwa is selfish, attributing his action as one seeking for his selfish desire and not minding the interest of Nigeria.

Speaking further he stressed that if Chris Giwa means well, he should have considered the interest of Nigeria or the implication his action could have resulted to Nigeria status in FIFA reckoning.

“If Nigeria is banned by FIFA, the local league too would suffer. He should have thought about all these before going ahead with his action.

Chris Giwa is the owner of Giwa football club campaigning in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The soft spoken Ambassador of peace said, “Chris Giwa should have known that FIFA ban on Nigeria definitely affects the local league which he has a team competiting here in Nigeria”.

In his opinion, Sir. Peterside looked at Chris Giwa’s action as fighting the various groups in the Nigeria Football Federation to gain recognition.

Meanwhile, he called on the Federal Government to intervene as to avert the impeding FIFA ban on Nigeria. He also urged the government to sanction Giwa for his selfish action. ###
