Sharks of Port Harcourt forward, Christian Pyagbara has tempted new handlers of the senior national team, the Super Eagles for invitation to the Super Eagles for the remaining AFCON qualifiers matches.
Christian Pyagbara scored four (4) goals against Sunshine Stars of Akure over the weekend here at Sharks Stadium.
Pyagbara for his performance had been invited into the Chan championship home based Eagles and did play couple of matches under Coach Stephen Keshi.
The Sharks forward is currently the second highest goal scorer with 14 goals to his credit in the Nigeria Professional football league.
Pyagbara current goal scoring form is a temptation for Amodu and his colleagues. Fortunately Pyagbara’s Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is one of the coach given the mandate with Amodu to qualify Nigeria for the African cup of Nations in Ghana.
If destiny farewell for Christian Pyagbara, he might be on his way to the Super Eagles squad that will qualify Nigeria for the next AFCON competition.
Coach Gbenga Ogunbote might also play a role in Pyagbara’s invitation to the Eagles as he will be given less job to do in the Eagles strikers if Pyagbara is invited to the Eagles camp.
Amodu is a grassroots coach and would not want to neglect Pyagbara’s inclusion in the Super Eagles, one, it saves cost as he is playing in the local league here in Nigeria, unlike the foreign players that will be transported from their oversea clubsides.
If Pyagbara is invited to the Super Eagles under Coach Amodu, it would been Pyagbara’s second invitation to the Super Eagles with a clear promotion to the main senior team. ###
