In his message, the President of Rotary Club of PH., RI District 9140, Rtn. Frank Eni pointed out that the month of October is observed as Vocational Service Month in the RI Calendar, which according to him include: Career Counseling and Guidance for secondary school students, Vocation-at-work, Promotion of Ethical Behaviors, Vocational Trainings, Economic Empowerment and Basic Literacy.

Eni further outlined that the 27th of October, 2014 for Economic Empowerment, the Rotary Foundation Seminar at Benin on the 7th and 8th of November, 2014, inauguration of the Golden Jubilee Committee and Rotary Day Celebration, amongst others.

Educating participants at the event through a paper presentation on “Rotary Code of Ethics, the 4-Way Test in Business, Professions and Community”, Rtn. Diamond Ovueraye emphasized on the Rotary Code of Ethics was in use until 1980.

Rtn. Ovueraye who enumerated the Rotary Code of Ethics, Conduct and the 4-Way Test concluded that Rotarians earn respect from fellow Rotarians and non-Rotarians, community and organizations where they work, by applying the 4-Way Test and the Rotary Code of Conduct. He urged Rotarians to practice what they preach and not to do something differently.

Similarly, Rev. Fr. Aloh Cletus Uchechukwu of Congregation of the Holy Spirit, South East, Nigeria who spoke on the topic: “Biblical Discourse on the Ethical Code of the Rotary Club”, stressed on the need to maintain ethical values and integrity by Christians and non Christians in the society. The priest at St. Theresa’s Parish, Oyigbo whose question on how the employers of labour are relating with young girls out there, who are looking for job, described it as unethical the way they are sometimes been treated.

Rev. Uchechukwu however, urged Rotarians to continue with the ethical values which they are known for and admonished Rotarians, Rotaracts and friends to emulate the life of Paul as they journey in their service to God and humanity.
