RIVLEAF To Select Best Governorship Candidate In Rivers

The National President of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation RIVLEAF, Chief Alex Weli said his target for establishing a website for people to choose their leaders was to elect a governor that will perform more than Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the incumbent governor of Rivers State in the next dispensation.

Chief Wele dropped the hint while in a chat with journalists during the burial ceremony of Late His Royal Majesty Eze Simeon Ndamati Wali, the paramount ruler of Apara kingdom at the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Chief Weli noted that the aim of establishing the two website lines was to give the people of the state the direction to chose their leaders pointing out that the two opened from now till next two weeks when they will announce the result of the winner for the position.

Chief Weli who noted that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has performed excellently in all sectors of human endeavours across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State, ranging from education, health, security network, infrastructural development, human capital development, to electricity among others despite distractions from oppositions said the people of the state need a governor that will perform more than him in the next dispensation.

According to him for somebody who will perform more than Amaechi, we need a God fearing leader, a governor that will reduce the level of corruption, an easy going person, not arrogant, a man that can be reached like Amaechi who has a listening ear and has the problems of his people at heart, a governor that will be developmental oriented, courageous and outspoken leader like Amaechi, a leader that has moral upbringing among others are the yardstick for the next governor in Rivers State.

Chief Weli who said he will not be biased in selecting the best governorship candidate as an APC extraction noted that if his party chooses a wrong candidate he will not support that, stressing that it is right for any candidate to contest for any position of his/her choice as the constitution requires and urged Rivers people not to abuse their leaders. ###
