NFF Election: Amaju Pinnick Emerges President

AMAJUA PINNICK 2It is no longer news that Amaju Pinnick of Delta State Football Association is now President of the new Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Elections conducted at Warri Delta State on 30th September, 2014 confirmed Amaju Pinnick President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Amaju Pinnick gets simple majority of 32 votes out of 44 to become the new President of Nigeria Football Federation, Taiwo Ogunjobi got 4 votes, Dominic Iorfa got 8 votes. All contesters of the position of the president of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Seyi Akinwinmi was voted NFF first Vice president with 30 votes, he beats Shehu Adamu which secured 8 votes, and Emeka Inyama 4 votes.

Other notable members of the board are Chris Green, pulls 26 votes to represent South-South in the board. He beats Oswald Atunice who got 14 votes.

Musa Ibrahim from Zamfara State is chairman of chairmen, Felix Anyansi Agu representing South East.

The former board had been dissolved before the election proper. The new board has been sworn in immediately elections were over.

Before elections proper, there was a list circulated by one of the contesters Dominic Iorfa in the list, Amaju Pinnick will be voted as consensus candidate as president NFF while pulling out the election list describing the election about to take place as fraudulent in that list. Amaju Pinnick is president, Sheyi Adamu of Lagos first vice president and Musa Ibrahim from Zamfara is chairman of chairmen.

However, electoral committee chairman Samson Ebohme says reported list earlier circulated was false and should not be taken serious,

Amaju Pinnick gets 25 out of 44 votes for NFF President, Dominic Iorfa 6 votes, Amaju Uchegbulam 4, Taiwo Ogumbobi 9, other candidates got no votes for the presidency.

Meanwhile, the new NFF President has made his acceptance speech, promising to reconcile all aggrieved candidates as well as meeting them so as to unify the NFF.

He also promised introducing age grade competition into the country’s football while also appealing for all and sundry to support him to move Nigeria football to a greater height.

He mentioned that the appointment of a coach after the board might have sat as that decision is binding on the entire board not for only him.###
