Prince Kingsley Wali, the Prince of Rumuigbo and the son of the Late Eze Amb. Sir Simon Wali, the Eze Oha Apara III, Apara Kingdom and Paramount Ruler said Eze Gift Eziwhgo Johnson will soon be installed as Eze Oha Apara IV.
Prince Wali made this known in an interview with journalists shortly after the thanksgiving service at the Diocese of Niger Delta North (Anglican Communion) Port Harcourt North Archdeaconry Holy Trinity Church Rumuapara District Port Harcourt.
Prince Wali stated that the thanksgiving was very important to the family because of the successful burial of their late father and the paramount ruler.
He said some disgruntled elements petitioned to the police that the chiefs and elders, including the youths were planning to cause havoc and burn peoples’ houses, a game plan just to destabilize the burial ceremony but thanked God that everything went well according to God’s plan. “Now my father has been buried” he said.
On who will succeed the late father, he said the communities have a procedure and the family has nominated Eze Gift Eziwhgo Johnson to be presented to the family.
Wali said when my late father, everyone thought as a Prince, I will be the next king but that is not true.
As whether there are others contending for the stool, he maintained that anyone parading himself he is not aware.
Also speaking, Eze Gift Eziwhgo Johnson thanked the family for appointing him according to the tradition and custom of the people, promising that he will rule with the fear of God when the time comes. He used the occasion to call for the unity of the people. ###
