Due to series of strong worded petitions written by some aggrieved members of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the Hon. Felix Obuah’s Exco, the National Working Committee, NWC of the ruling party has directed the Integration Committee to look into the allegations contained in the said petitions.
Numerous petitions have been written against the high handedness of the state officers of the party under the watchful eyes of Hon. Obuah.
Such petitions emanated from some notable socio-political groups and politicians from the state namely: Hon. Elemchukwu Ogbonwu, High Chief Anabs Sara Igbe, Hon. Lolo Ibieneye, Kalika Assembly, Kengema Unity Forum (KUF), and several others.
Recently the Concerned Members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State accused the Obuah’s exco of supporting the Minister of State for Education, Chief (Barr.) Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike for his Guber ambition in 2015.
This was contained in a petition the group sent to the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, the Concerned Members of PDP said that “Felix Obuah in justification of the unmerited favour he received from Wike had during the first anniversary of his court “victory” in his home town Omoku warned that any person other than Wike who aspires to run for the governorship of Rivers State in 2015 does so at the person’s peril, this shows that PDP in Rivers State has become a private estate of Wike and Obuah, the consequences of which is certainly catastrophic for the fortunes of PDP in future elections”.
As aggrieved party members channel their grievances through petitions to the National Leadership of the party, the Obuah’s PDP in the state has expelled some members of the party for what it called “anti-party activities”.
Prominent among those who have expelled from the party include: Hon. Elemchukwu Ogbokwu, Hon. Lolo Ibieneye, High Chief Sara Igbe amongst others.
Information reaching our political desk had it that the Party’s Integration Committee will visit the sate to find lasting peace to the crisis rocking the Rivers PDP, especially that of the non-zoning arrangement.
Fears now gripped members of Obuah’s exco that the coming of the facts finding Integration Committee might call for their sack and other disciplinary actions to be taken. If that is done no doubt it would thwart the gubernatorial ambition of the junior Minister in the Federal Ministry of Education, Chief Wike.
However, our political correspondent gathered that some leaders and chieftains of the party at Abuja namely: Dr. Peter Odili, Prince Uche Secondus, Prince Chibudon Nwuche, Dr. Tammy Danagogo and others are putting pressure on the presidency not to do anything that will have negative impact on his electoral victory in 2015.
According to what we are reliably gathered, any attempt to disorganize the present composition of the Obuah’s PDP exco it might affect the party’s electoral successes in the state. ###
