The Inspector General of Police and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police have been called upon to intervene in the alleged brutalization, harassment and threat to life of Chief Solomon Manunyewhor by unscrupulous persons in Rumuolukwu Community, Eneka in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Narrating his plight to journalists in Port Harcourt, Chief Solomon Manunyewhor said that problem started when “my brother, Mr. Christian Manunyewhor allegedly sold the land portion belonging to me and my elder brother, Elder Truelove Odikaonye Manunyewhor. We then summoned him to the Akpara Kingdom Council of Awoh holders so as to explain why he did such a thing, but he refused to appear before the council.
Chief Solomon Manunyewhor explained that he was later attacked by some miscreants on the order of Mr. Christian to manhandle me, adding that, I was beaten to the point of death.
In his words, I later arrested him with the police at Eneka Police Station, while the matter was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Division (C.LD), where the matter is still pending. As at now, Mr. Christian is still threatening my life. He also went to Zone 6 Police Command at Calabar to allege false allegation against me and my fourteen years old son so as to arrest and retain me unjustly.
Chief Solomon said further, that Christian has been expelled from the Rumuolukwu Community Council due to his nefarious activities in Eneka. “In his words”, I therefore call on the police to investigate the matter quickly and also prevail on Christian to stop harassing my family, because he is boasting that the police can not arrest him as he is a Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) member.
Crime Prevention Officer has called on Mr. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Governor Rotimi Amaechi to come to his aid by securing his life and his entire family from Mr. Christian and his cohorts/hoodlum.
