Andoni: Indigenes Demand Return Of Elder Egop

EGOPThe people of Andoni Local Government Area in Rivers State are demanding the return of Elder (Hon) Sampson Gildert Egop, the immediate past caretaker chairman of the council as head of the council, positing that Elder Egop’s 3 months tenure was indeed a blessing to the entire citizenry and the APC

A socio-political organization, Andoni Elite Club came up with this agitation in a press briefing at Ngo Town, headquarters of Andoni Local Government Area, Tuesday, when it described the end of tenure and exit of Elder Egop as shocking and worrisome, saying that the tenure came to an end at a time when the administration was poised to deliver the dividends of democracy to the People and the All Progressives Congress in Particular.

The President of the Club, Comrade Ekeneokan-Inyon Davidson while decrying withdrawal of the Elder Egop led administration in the area recounted that, it has recorded tremendous achievements in the area of empowering the people and placing the APC at top priority as it has solidified the party’s existence in the Area.

Comrade, Davidson used the opportunity to call on Governor Rotimi Amaechi to being focus rather than depending on gossip that could ruin his administration efforts in leading the State to greater heights and request that the past caretaker Chairman be given another opportunity to serve his people, especially in an elective capacity.

The President of the Andoni Elite Club said the Elder Egop led APC administration has within 3 months, sailed the party to all nooks and crannies of Andoni during his tour of wards, maintaining that, since the inception of APC in Andoni, such awareness campaign for the party was not thought of, adding that within the period under review, the Party Secretariats were not only acquired and furnished but commissioned, an activity he described as planting the APC on a loamy soil for proper and fruitful germination.

Davidson however, called on Governor Amaechi to re-consider Elder Egop’s administration as the best thing that has happened to APC in Andoni, while enjoining indigenes to rally round Elder Egop and his successor for productive governance. ###
