Unidentified dreaded gunmen on Monday stormed and raided Teme Community in the Asari-Toru Local Government of Rivers State. According to eyewitness accounts, the gunmen numbering over five (5) entered the community from the bush.
During the raid, the thieves attacked one of the female staff of Live Above Poverty Organization (LAPO), a local microfinance agency who was in the community to disburse money to local traders.
Undisclosed huge amount of money was carted away from the LAPO staff. The gunmen operated for some hours without any resistance.
After the operation they escaped through Korukiri, a neighbouring settlement. ###
