“APC Will Drown In 2015” – Eleme PDP Chief

Chief Obele Ekee, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State has predicted an imminent collapse of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2015 general elections.

Ekee said the APC’s national convention in Abuja recently turned out to be a sour grape in the mouth of many stalwarts of the party who went home disappointed, pointing out that the outcome would continue to haunt the party until it fizzled out.

The Eleme PDP chieftain noted that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the APC at the convention outplayed and overshadowed all other big shots in the party and effectively took control of the party to the dismay of people like Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Retired General Mohammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s ex-military head of state and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, an ex-vice president of the country under the PDP.

He said “at the convention, Buhari’s face was like someone suffering from yellow fever. You also see Atiku’s face like someone dreaming and when Amaechi spoke, he only told the people to be ready to defend their votes, and never said anything about the convention”.

“Atiku was not himself again, and Buhari was not also himself again. At the end of that convention, anybody that was there or watched on television knows that what happened that day was a total failure on the part of the APC.”

Ekee said APC was sinking, pointed out that anyone joining the party would sink along with it. “They are bragging that they have 15 or 16 states, but I tell you, after 2015 election if APC gets up to 6 states then know that I forecast wrongly”.

According to him, in Rivers state for instance, those who make politics tick are in the PDP, while those following Amaechi in APC were mediocre looking for how to fill their pockets and would not make any impact in the state.

“I am from Eleme Local Government Area and Eleme, Oyigbo, Tai, Gokana, Khana, Andoni and Opobo are one senatorial zone. Okrika , Bonny, Ogu /Bolo Port Harcourt, Ikwerre , Etche belong to another senatorial zone while Kalabari, Abua /Odual, belong to one senatorial District. But I want to tell you if you put my seven local government areas together, and put our votes together, it can’t be up to the votes from Obio/Akpor alone. Obio/Akpor outnumbers the whole of the seven local governments from this senatorial district.

“So, politically and as a politician, we want to take over from Amaechi and change the government.

“We want to change the leadership of Rivers State from these wine bar group; these people meet in wine bar and if you go to Lagos, you will see them in their wine bars, you go to Abuja, you see them in their wine bars. These political wine bar group should not rule us again.”
