Travelling the Road to Spiritual Freedom

Spiritual Freedom is the ability of the HU-man being to remove himself from the webs of karma and reincarnation, the social consciousness, the idiosyncrasies of religion and the limitations of man- made laws. But the critical factor is for the individual to have the ability to shake –off the limitations of fate karma, commonly referred to as destiny. For the lords of Karma employ the means of destiny to hold Soul in Human form down in this earthly school in order to reap what they have sown and balance the energy cycles they have created..

I was billed to attend a conference in Cotonou amidst the uproar on Ebola. When I heard that the boarders of Nigeria were being monitored and manned by officials, the impression one hears on radio and TV was that the whole of Nigeria was being taken over by this deadly virus. As a spiritual student, I had to contact my Spiritual Guide.

Everyone has a spiritual guide but most of us have been taught by our religion not to recognize any we have encountered. These are God- realized beings that God has directed to come to our aid in times of need. Since I needed to attend this conference in Cotonou, I needed to have assurance from a spiritual perspective.

‘Can I travel to Cotonou, Sir?’ I asked my Spiritual Coach beside me as I worked at my desk.

‘Ok’ came the short reply.

I had done my flight booking and my hotel reservation and needed to confirm my journey. As early as 6am I was on my way to the airport. Instead of praying for the road to be free, I simply did a creative visualization technique. I used my imagination, Soul’s thought, to imagine what I wanted the road to be and surrendered it to the Holy Spirit as I sang the Holy name for God known as HU to commit the journey into the hands of God.

One of the easy ways to contact God is to sing HU the Holy, Sacred and Secret name for God. It has the ability of making the individual bring the love of God to bear on any situation. But often times we have been taught to direct God to do what we want in our lives. This is the old traditional way of praying. People pray this way simply because they do not yet know who they are. For if they knew their ability as a part of the Holy Spirit, they would not be spending endless hours praying to God. For indeed they have only been praying unconsciously to the Spiritual aspects of themselves known as Soul. This is why it is written that ‘only those who do not know God pray to direct God on what to do’.

If God is omnipresent (always present), omniscient (all knowing) and omnipotent (all powerful) why then do we attempt to tell God what to do since He knows what is already in our heart? The only necessary thing is to know the will of God in any situation and then follow and obey it to the letter.

The will of God for me is to travel so I was on my way.

As I drove towards the airport, it was exactly as I imagined it to be. The road was clear and within about twenty minutes, I was already inside the airport. I completed my check-in activities and relaxed for the flight. At the appointed time, I boarded the plane, settled down on my seat, relaxed and noticed the presence of my Spiritual Guide beside me. As the plane taxied for take-off, I could hear the high pitched sound of the HU the Holy and Sacred name of God. This name of God is present in all sounds, in the sound of the ocean, chirping of birds, the sound of the engine boat, the sound of the dog barking, the sound of the goat bleating. It is present in all sounds. Indeed, it is the power behind all sounds.

After 45 minutes of flight, we were on our way to Seme border. It took us three hours of rigorous driving through Lagos Traffic. I watched closely as we went through the border to see if there was any check for Ebola and noticed that only gloves were worn by the authorities. So much for all the noise on radio and TV. In a short while we had completed all formalities and were on our way to Cotonou.

As we drove towards the city of Cotonou I could observe the level of awareness compared to Nigeria. People do not seem to be aware. For I could see them doing things the way they have been doing it before. At the conference the level of awareness was greater as all sales on sanitizers were sold out. I settled down to enjoy the seminar which was on Spiritual Freedom.

What is Spiritual Freedom? How can one realize Spiritual Freedom? Does Spiritual Freedom has anything to do with destiny? How can one travel this road?

Spiritual freedom is the ability of the individual to free himself from the clutches of Karma and Reincarnation who are the twin brothers of destiny. The religion the individual belongs has nothing to do with this exact law of Karma that regulates all the thoughts, words and actions including the feelings of all individuals in all the universes in the lower worlds. Most of us are not aware of this law and this is the cause of miseries and a lot of mysteries in our lives. This law simply rewards us for whatever we think, say or do. It simply states that action and reaction are equal but opposite in direction. This law was not designed to punish anyone but it specifically teaches us how to love and live fairly with all life.

But most of us believe they can rob and kill then go and pray and beg for forgiveness. Yes it is right to beg for forgiveness out of a sense of responsibility but it does not remove the fact that the transgressor will have to pay. If he dies before paying, he must reincarnate with that same individual and pay.

But the antidote to this karma, going and coming for so many lifetimes is love. The individual must practice love at all times without any expectation of reward. This is the love that serves all life and must be given at all times. This is the only way one can escape Karma. Freedom from the wheel of Karma and Reincarnation is the only way to have Spiritual Freedom. There is no other way. Everything that happens to us under the law of karma is beyond our control. This is what people refer to as destiny. It controls your life whether you pray, fast or not.

At the end of the conference, I parked my bags and we headed to the border. I changed the little money I had left and we made to the first point of exit and we were accosted by the Beninois Police for carrying ‘too much’ dollars. I had only four hundred dollars with me and that was considered too much. What do I do? After much explanation and showing a letter of invitation from a general we were allowed to go through to the Nigerian side.

We passed through a total of about twenty-three check points between Seme and Badagry. What was going on? We wondered. What were they doing with so many check points, asking for the same things? Your guess is as good as mine. A man collects money unjustly from a roadblock and goes home rejoicing that he made some money for the day only for him to rush his daughter to the hospital for an ailment and ends up spending the same money he collected unjustly. You see, the wheel turns around and around and round until the individual realizes that he creates his own world. He is the architect of his own problems.

Arriving at the domestic terminal of the airport, I found that our flight has been delayed for another three hours. We eventually arrived Port Harcourt International around 8pm.

The lesson from this episode is that people are afraid of death simply because they do not know that life does not begin with birth nor does it end with death. But for the individual who desires Spiritual freedom, the road to that destination begins with singing the HU, the secret name for God.
