Obio/Akpor: Five Party Chiefs Dump PDP

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Amb. Otis Asonye says the defection of members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the APC was an indication that PDP was no longer valid in the area.

It would be recalled that during the commissioning ceremony of the APC Ward 12 Rumuigbo Secretariat in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, five PDP members defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Amb. Otis Asonye who is also the Public Relations Officer PRO of the party in Obio/Akpor LGA expressed satisfaction of the large turn out of the members at the event.

He assured Chief Sir. Tony Okocha, the Chief Of Staff, Government House that the Ward 12 Rumuigbo will justify the confidence response on them by voting for APC massively in 2015 elections.

He enjoined APC in the area not to be intimidated by anyone rather should be steadfast and remain loyal to the party.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Chief Sir. Tony Okocha while commending the chairman of the party of the ward noted that the party will succeed in the area.

Chief Okocha who further noted that the essence of opening APC Secretariats across the state was to win the elections come 2015 elections said that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP are lost salt to be used in “our meal hence APC has come to change Ward 12 Rumuigbo and other part of the state”.

According to him, “every one of us made PDP and we are now in APC to ensure total positive change in the state and also at the federal level.

He congratulated members of PDP who decamped to APC assuring them that the party will carry them along in the scheme of thing as they were in the right direction.

In his speech, Chief Solomon Ikeguru, the APC chairman in Obio/Akpor while speaking, noted that the All Progressives Party, APC was moving like a train to defile all obstacles that come on their way assuring that the party will sweep the polls in 2015 election in Obio/Akpor, state and the federal levels.

The APC chairman expressed optimism that the party has come to stay in the area assuring the Chief Of Staff, Okocha and all members of the party that the people of the Ward 12 Rumuigbo will be delivered to APC come 2015.

In his speech, Mr. Chijioke Emere, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who decamped to APC with other of his members said their reason for defecting to APC was that they were dissatisfied with the bad conduct of PDP.

According to him, “we feel protected in the hand of APC” and assured that they would join hands with their new party members to win the 2015 general elections. ###
