Ban Sale Of Alcohol At Motor Parks

Nigeria as a nation has lost so many of its citizens to road accident on daily basis. So many Nigerians have dead in a ghastly motor accident. Sadly, most of the accident occur on the federal roads, the East/West road.

The ever busy East/West road is still in the state of dilapidation.

It is easy to pass through an eye of a needle than to travel on the Federal Government East/West road. Though of recent the Federal Government under the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has done little to resuscitate the Nigerian roads, but much need to be done.

Beside bad roads, another thing that cause frequent road accident is reckless driving. Most drivers are inexperienced thereby fail to comply with any road sign. Lack of maintenance contributes in no small measure to road accident. Ninety percent of Nigerian drivers lack maintenance culture.

Another silent dangerous area that cause accident most of the time on our road is the sale of alcohol drinks in the motor parks. Most of the drivers get drunk before embarking on trip. This helps to increase the rate of accident on the roads. One basic effective method of checking road accident is to ban the sale of alcohol in motor parks.

Let us use this medium to call on the National and State Assemblies to enact laws that will stop the sale of Alcohol in motor parks to avoid unnecessary accident on our roads. ###
