2015: Ogonis Shift Ground ..Eye Dep. Gov’ship Slot, MOSOP Divided

It appears that politicians from the Ogoni ethnic nationality have seen the hand-writing on the wall that it will be impossible for any of them to be emerged as the next governor of Rivers State come 2015. Thus they have shifted their ground and begin to eye the deputy governorship slot.

Information reaching our political desk had it that, Ogoni politicians who are contesting the plum job have suddenly sunk their ambition, adding that the coast is yet to be cleared for them to realize their governorship ambition.

The sudden u-turn made by the Ogoni politicians has divided the leadership of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP). Some leaders of MOSOP are still in support of Ogoni governor in 2015, while other opted for deputy governorship seat. Hence confusion and division rock MOSOP.

MOSOP, the foremost Ogoni ethnic group is now moving towards disintegration due to the disagreement in the leadership of the group as regards to who occupies the Brick House in 2015.

Most of the gubernatorial aspirants from the Ogoni region are now pledging their support and loyalty to the Minister of State for Education, Chief (Barr.) Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, as they are struggling to deputize him.

With the current political situation, there is no doubt that the Ogonis might be crashed out of the gubernatorial race in 2015. ###
