An old adage says, “If a child washes his hands clean, he eats with elders.” The book of Proverbs 22:29, “seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings, he shall not stand before mean men” (KJV). These saying captured the life of Chief Fineman Nnanna Olungwe, who out of sheer tenacity, humility and due respect to elders was honoured as a chief to represent his Ngesia Community in Akpajo, Eleme Local Government Area.
The auspicious occasion took place at his compound on Saturday 26, July 2014, a midst traditional dance, fanfare, Pons and pageantries.
The traditional rite of presentation of staff was performed by HRH .W. Nkpon of Akpajo kingdom and “ofe mgbao Nkporon” Killing of dog for the full admission into the Akpajo council of chiefs and
Elders. –
With this killing of dog, Chief Nnanna F Olungwe has been offically inducted into the ruling class and decision makers of the kingdom. He has the rights and privileges accorded to any man of such status, said HRH .W. Nkpon
Earlier, on 19th of July, 2014 he was introduced to the chiefs and elders as customs demands, the process is known as buying the mouth of chiefs to support him, before the proper event.
Chief Olungwe Fineman, is a successful business man, humble and hard work. His generosity speaks volume for him. Some dignitaries, who spoke to press, said his humility and commitment to the ideals of the kingdom earned him this honour.
Chief Hon. Osaro Nwidaa the traditional ruler of Akpajo community, Chief Osaro Oluka spokes man of Akpajo clan and Chief Adolphus Osaro Chinwi Ngesia spokesperson said Chief Fineman Olungwe is a man of good character whose integrity is proved beyond doubt and a man of the people.
In the same vein, Professor Walter Ollor, Fineman Ebiewa an economist, elder King Okanje A. O. a traditional ruler of Ajokpori Community, Akpajo clan and Hon. Collins Wilson chairman PDP ward 9, Akpajo, stated that he is the 15th person admitted into the council. Advised that, he should always and at all times discharge his responsibility creditably, thus, ensuring that truth prevails in every case. And to shun anything that would bring him to dispute and Odium, while striving to learn, stressing that as a young man his future is bright.
Meanwhile the women leader, Chief Mrs. Blessing Wilson said, “He can carry people along, he helps the widows and motherless and is a fearless speakers”
In her contribution, his darling wife Mrs. Fineman Olungwe described her husband as, loving, caring and peaceful, and urged other – women to show love, to their husbands, saying his husband is peaceful, “many years in marriage, no quarreling and we are blessed”.
The chief celebrant, Chief Fineman N. Olungwe while talking to the media men said, “I am highly elated and honoured by my people. Today, is one of the happiest days in my life, that I was called to serve my people, by honouring me with chieftaincy title. I am called to join them to move my community forward. I shall contribution to the developments- youth empowerment, progress, education and ensuring at all times that peace reigns. The occasion was colourful indeed and was graced by dignitaries from all walks of life. ###
