Ahead of FA Cup finals, a Port Harcourt based football enthusiast, Sir John Peterside is rooting for Dolphins of Port Harcourt to lift the Federation Association Football cup finals come 16th August, 2014 at Teslim Stadium, Lagos.
The optimistic Peterside based his support on Dolphins to lift this year’s FA cup owing to the pedigree of Dolphins in the history of the FA cup.
According to him, Dolphins had been champions couple of times and understand the politics of the game, saying Dolphins are not new to the antics of the Federation Cup.
Sir. John Peterside who is also the chairman of Port Harcourt Allstars Football club of Port Harcourt said, he believes the Port Harcourt side could do the state proud, because the team has quality players and technical crew.
The ambassador of peace urged the Rivers State government and the entire Rivers football family to support Dolphins with their prayers till the trophy is brought home by Dolphins of Port Harcourt.
While advising the players of Dolphins to take their chances as they come to ensure that victory is theirs.
However, the commissioner for Sports, Hon. Fred Igwe has stated that the Rivers State government will support Dolphins to bring the trophy home, adding that all allowance and salaries will be paid up to motivate the players to swim into victory come 16th August, 2014. ###
