Rehabilitating Roads in Port Harcourt and Its Environs

Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s administration is trying in the area of roads construction and rehabilitation.

The administration has constructed and reconstructed so many new and old roads in Port Harcourt and its environs.

Roads are important in the economic development of any given nation. Good roads help transportation of goods and services very easier. Also there will free movement of human beings. Business transaction will be very fast.

Amaechi’s administration which attaches importance to development of the state has also opened up several access roads in the rural communities.

In as much as we give kudos to Governor Amaechi for the good work he is doing on road construction, we are not happy to see that several roads within the Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs are impassible and dilapidated.

Some internal roads within the Agip Federal Housing Estate are in bad state.

Also the Rumuolumeni and Egbelu/Ogbogoro roads are in pitiable situation. Motorists find it difficult to apply as commuters trek long distant to reach their destination.

Some of these roads like that of the Rumuolumeni’s has an economic importance as they links to the state owed Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and other multi-national firms.

We plea with the state government and ministry of Works to swing into action to ensure that these bad and uncompleted roads are completed in no distant time. ###
