Nigeria is among the countries chasing the 300,000 (three hundred thousand) gold medals to be competed for in this year’s commonwealth games in Glasgow, which commenced Wednesday.
Nigeria performance had never been so impressive in this game in recent ones, but a twist to this particular one, sports lovers in the country are in high opinion that Nigeria will do well in this year’s games.
Expectations are high as sports minister, Dr. Tammy Danagogo raise the hopes of Nigerians, saying his ministry will do everything possible to see that Nigeria surpass previous records in the commonwealth games.
Blessing Okagbara has also said, that she will put in her best to see that Nigeria claims lot of medals to surpass previous records. Ahead she had won her first gold medal in 100 metre.
To this effect, foreign Nigerian athletes have beefed up “team Nigeria” to give good account of Nigeria in this year’s commonwealth games.
According to Dr. Danagogo everything have been put in place to see that the athletes do not give any reason as all monetary benefits and allowances have been settled properly so as to be focused on Nigeria surpassing her previous records. ###
