The leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Degema LGA of Rivers State, Hon. Pleasant Braide has called on the party membership to remain steadfast in their loyalty and focused in strengthening the party as election 2015 gets close.
Hon. Braide made this call while addressing PDP faithful over the weekend in Bakana after a working visit to the various secretariats of the six (6) Wards in the community. This was contained in a release signed by the Secretary of the party in the LGA, Asemebo Dokubo and made available to newsmen.
Hon. Braide admonished the members to “to remain focused and keep faith with the party always, and work towards ensuring a resounding victory for the Party in the forth coming polls”.
Hon. Braide also called on the party members to beware of Pseudo- PDP members who are only out to sow the seeds of discord amongst the party faithful.
“Beware that some non PDP members currently parading as our members are only out to cause disunity amongst us. Please discountenance them. Remain loyal to the party and keep faith with the leadership. The current talk about a so-called upland – riverine dichotomy, tribal and sectional sentiments are moribund, divisive and backward and will do Rivers state no good.
“As far as the PDP is concerned only the best material is good enough to pilot the affairs of the state, no matter his/her place of origin, and by the Grace of God, a trustworthy, properly groomed, detribalized, adequately educated and exposed, and properly rooted and grounded Rivers man who will ensure equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy will emerge as Governor of Rivers state on the PDP ticket, come 2015” he posited. Earlier, at the various ward offices, the party leader and his entourage had taken time to enlighten the party members of the importance of the forth coming INEC voters register update and permanent voters card issuance exercise and admonished the Party leadership at the ward level to pass the word down and ensure mass participation in the exercise.
In the entourage of Hon. Pleasant Braide during the 2 – day tour were prominent PDP big wigs in the area, including: Mr. Asemebo Dokubo, the LGA PDP Secretary, Engr. Okiye Evans, the Chief spokesman of PDP Kalabari Stakeholders Forum, Chief Elias Davies, Mr. Godknows Miller, Chief (Hon.) Ipalibo Braide, Mr. Siki Akwabala, Mr. Tammy Williams, the Vice Chairman of PDP in the LGA, Barr. Sokari Oweredeba, Mr. Jene Sylver, Barr. Owunari lyalIa, Mr. Ipalibo Sogules, Mr. Lika Braide, Mr. Ipulo Joe-Jim, Mr. Sonny Briggs, Mr. Whyte Pedro and others.
It would be recalled that Hon. Pleasant Braide had led a powerful PDP delegation to Bille (ward 16) in the LGA a fortnight ago for the formal opening of the party’s ward office in the ancient community.
That event which was well attended also had representation of the Kalabari Unity Forum (KUF) and other organizations under the PDP umbrella in attendance.
The Chairman of PDP in Bille Mr. Nengim Innocent Fenibo had assured the PDP, in his well applauded address, that the PDP is at home in Bille and will capture the poll come 2015.
As usual, the Bille legendry hospitality was at play as guests were treated to sumptuous traditional meals before departing. ####
