The Problem of Nigeria Football is Poor Administration – Iyama

HON. TAMMY DANAGOGOA seasoned footballer in the 90s, Benjamin Iyama has pointed out that the problem of Nigeria football is administration, according to the articulate former footballer, who used to be the toast of Port Harcourt football fans, said, Nigeria would have been a great football nation at the world stage, if administratively, the country has it solid stand.

Speaking to The Newswriter sports, he explained that, if the football talents in the country were administered with sincerity of purpose, without sentiment other countries would have come to learn from Nigeria.

He pointed out that lifting the world cup is not a difficult task, if the country football administrators would only support and stand by their indigenous coaches and seasoned players positively, adding that the same is affecting Cameroon, Ghana and other African countries apart from Egypt.

Concerning Keshi, he said, Keshi is a luck coach as associated with football, for a coach to succeed he needs a little bit of luck, with hard work to excel.

Saying, Keshi has enjoyed that hence, he won the nations cup when nobody believes he could.

Iyama said, he played football and knows how the games is being run and administered, so he could tell others, stressing that he played DAFA Cup actively, these are the days football talents were in commitment and at their best administratively.

Offering his advise, he said, Keshi would have lifted the world cup if he could have involved the services of some of his football playing mate like, Sunday Oliseh and Jay Jay Okocha, according to him, though, Keshi is a great and lucky coach, he did not possess great technical and tactical quality. He opined that Keshi would have made name as the first Nigerian that lifted the World Cup with the assistance of his former teammates like Oliseh and Okocha, supposing he involved them in his world cup campaign.

He also spoke on the current issue bedeviling the country’s football leadership. In his opinion, he said, Blatter wants to come back hence he is supporting Alhaji Aminu Maigari led NFF to see him back to office. He stressed that Maigari has been there at such he wants a body he has worked with to help him come back to office. That is the reason Blatter is supporting Maigari to be reinstated as Nigeria Football Federation President.

At the home front he said, he has the ability to market sharks and Dolphins football clubs, saying he has the connection and great deal of personalities to deliver. ###
