The Director and Founder of GOJEHOTA International School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Pastor Raji Taiwo who defined the acronyms of his school as a revelation name from the acronyms: God the father (GO), God the Son, Jesus (JE), God the Holy Spirit (HO) and Taiwo (TA), for the Director’s name, has called on parents to invest seriously on their children’s education, irrespective of their financial status
Pastor Taiwo, who made the call at the 10th Year Anniversary Ceremony of the school held at the school premises in Rumuokwachi, Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State, urged the people to know what they want, adding that education is quite expensive in Nigeria and the need for school owners to reduce their fees and not to lose standard.
The Clergy who appreciated God for the opportunity to be alive to witness the mustard seed growing up to becoming a cedar tree, hinged on finance, government and lack of electricity supply, among others as some of the challenges that the school had faced in the last 10 years.
Taiwo, who said that they are not yet eager for profit in their first 10 years anniversary, disclosed that plans are on the way to send their staff abroad, for better teaching skills, pointing out the need to invest in a child’s education than buying quality clothes for the child, he added.
Some of the parents and guests that spoke with news men at the event which include: Pastor Dr. P.C. Okwelle, Anniversary Chairman, Ebiwarebo Yinks, Pastor Amos Essien of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and Surveyor Newton Egbivwie among others, described GOJEHOTA as a “wonderful school,” considering the way they started and also admitted that the hand of God is in the school.
They also affirmed that the uniqueness of the school is in the academic and spiritual aspects that stand it out from other schools, agreeing that the dream of Pastor Mrs.Taiwo for the school to have a university as pronounced by Pastor Soji Oni of RCCG, Rivers Province 2, who ministered at the Thanksgiving Service, that the school will soar to a greater height, will come to manifestation.
The event also witnessed the presentation of gifts and awards to staff above 5 years and Awards to Best Students in 2011-2013 WAEC Results which went to Raji Oluwatimilehin and Ndii Favour Bariaara, and a Scholarship Award to one of the students.
