We’ll Only Support A Visionary Candidate – Group Declares

COMR. ADAYE JACKA body of proactive organization under the aegis of Coalition of Niger Delta Visionary Group, CNDVG has declared that it will only support a visionary candidate for the governorship election in Rivers State in the 2015 general polls. The coalition group which is made up of Campaign for Nembe/Ogbia Socialite Group, Clustered Ijaw Conference and Indigenous Ijaw Group of Yorubas came out with this at the end of their congress meeting which took place on Monday, July 7, 2014 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital city.

Addressing journalists shortly after the parley, the Director-General of the group, Comrade Adaye Jack explained that the group unanimously came up with the decision seeing the dearth in leadership presently observed in the state, noting that the state has been dragged through unnecessary crises which, ultimately have stagnated the development needed for effective growth.

He regretted the unnecessary bickering among political office holders and politicians in the state which has thrown the whole apparatus of governance into chaos. This, he maintained has produced a negative effect so colossal that unnecessary suffering has been thrust on the masses.

“Rivers State is presently in a terrible mess and the time has come for us to tell ourselves the truth that the remote cause of the whole crisis is the absence of an effective leadership group manning the helms of affair in the state. What we are presently witnessing is a clash of ego that has had terrible consequences on the entire strata of the state,” Comrade Jack stated.

The group’s helmsman noted that the onus is on the people of the state to change the ugly trend and pointed out that 2015 has presented the people the enabling opportunity to correct the nasty situation by voting in a visionary leader that will give them the desired governance for a truly egalitarian society.

Comrade Jack maintained that CNDVG, with over 4, 000 of its members in Rivers State alone – making up the about 10, 000 strength of the body spread across the Niger Delta States – is prepared to set the pace for the needed enthronement of good governance in the state come 2015.

According to him, “from what is happening in the state, there is a need for a visionary leader to return the state to the path of sanity. Honestly, realistic development can never be attained in a state of chaos and that is where CNDVG is poised at championing the needed shift”.

He lamented the present high rate of official rascality the state has witnessed in the last few years and pointed out that the only way out is to put in a cool headed governor with the mission to assuage the pains the generality of the people of the state have gone through.

Comrade Jack went on to charge political parties in the state to endeavour to carry out credible primaries in the choice of their respective candidates as the group will not support any candidate whose emergence is shrouded in controversy, pointing out that such is the basis of the probe of governance in the country.
