Okuru-Ama Celebrates Liberation Day

The people of Okuru-Ama Community penultimate week celebrated their liberation.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi through his Special Adviser on Aqua-Culture and Deep Sea Fishing, Hon. Kurotamunoye Briggs thanked the people of the community for their peaceful disposition. He urged them to always tread the path of dialogue. The Governor also charged them to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 general election.

In his speech, the Chairman Okrika Council of Chiefs through his representative, Chief Wokoma G.D.A Kwani enjoined the people to always give thanks to God and advised that they should never think of serving another gods considering what the Almighty God has done in their lives.

Earlier, delivering a sermon, Ven E. C Ilogu described the people of Okuru-Ama as the children of God, and charged them to put their trust in God.

In their welcome address delivered by Pastor Tamunokonbia Alabo, the community declared that they have forgiven their enemies, who want to destroy them.

The highlights of the occasion include Praise and Worship, launching of economic empowerment programme and special dedication of the community to God.###
