Kalabari IYC Honours Egberipapa

EGBERIPAPA AWARDThe Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Kalabari Se Ikpangi in conjunction with the Kengema Unity Forum has conferred a prestigious award on Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich, alias Egberipapa.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman IYC Kalabari Clan, Prince Sobrasua Odum extolled the leadership qualities of Egberipapa, saying that he has done much for the people of Kalabari ethnic nationality.

Prince Odum said that Egberipapa has used both financial and material resources to liberate the Kalabari Kingdom from poverty. He described Ambassador Jackrich as a “freedom fighter”, and applauded him for his commitment and determination of ensuring that the next Governor of Rivers State comes from the Kalabari Kingdom.

The IYC Chairman called on the youths of the Kalabari Kingdom to throw their weights behind Egberipapa to ensure that what the Kengema Unity Forum (KUF) is demanding for in 2015 becomes a reality.

Prince Odum used the medium to advice Kalabari youths to be focused and not to do anything that will tarnish their future endeavours. He further charged them to steadfastly stand behind the Kalabari Project and that of the Goodluck Jonathan Project in 2015 general election.

Responding, Egberipapa thanked them for the honour done him. He promised to work for the unity, progress and the peace of the Kalabari Kingdom. According to him, nothing will stop him from carrying out his belief and conviction that the next Governor of Rivers State must come from the Kalabari Kingdom. He charged the Kalabaris to be united, and avoid anything that will cause division in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, the Bakana Chapter of the Network for Defence of Democracy and Good Governance (NDDGG) has felicitated with the convener of the KUF, Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich as he receives excellence award from IYC Kalabari Se Ikpangi in conjunction with the Kengema Unity Forum (KUF). The members of the association said that they are happy to be identified with him and prayed God to shower His blessings on Egberipapa. The association also used the medium to welcome Egberipapa to Bakana Community as he tours round the Degema Local Government Area (Delga).
