Guber 2015: Ateke Declares, Begins LGAs Tour …Amaechi Panics

TOM ATEKEThe founder and the leader of the Niger Delta Vigilante, High Chief Ateke Tom has finally declared his intention to gun for the Brick House come 2015.

The High Chief is contesting on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP. Chief Ateke is one of the strong advocates of a riverine governor in 2015, though he attended the inauguration of the Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI in the Okrika Local Government Area, where he had a warm handshake with the Supervising Minister for Education, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike.

In the past few days, the ex-agitator in the Niger Delta region has commenced wards tour in Okrika and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas.

Ateke’s gubernatorial campaigns have caused unrest in Government House as fears griped Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Recently the governorship hopeful played host to the ward executives of Sekuro Foundation, his political outfit in the twenty-three (23) Local Government Areas at Okochiri in Okrika Local Government Area. During the meeting Ateke told them that the era of “use and dump” politics is over and promised that as soon as he steps into the Government House come 2015, he would embark on aggressive programmes and policies that will turn-around the fortune of the entire state.

Information reaching our political desk had it that, next Thursday and Friday, Ateke will visit Phalga Wards – 4, 5, 6, 7, and 20. The planned visit of these wards has sent fears into the minds of the supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Our Senior Correspondent reported that the Governor has directed his agents not to allow Chief Ateke to organize his campaign in any of the school fields and open centres under the control of the State Government.

Meanwhile, the Phalga coordinator of Sekuro Foundation, Comrade Joel Tuboteme said that arrangement has been concluded to receive Chief Ateke, saying that the event will create an opportunity for the members of the Foundation to interact directly with the governorship hopeful. ###
