Ekiti Experience Will Be Replicated In Rivers – Arimie

The electoral experience witnessed in Ekiti State last Saturday will be replicated in Rivers State where incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the Opposition All Progressive Congress (APC), was defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ayodele Fayose in a widely reported free, fair and peaceful elections.

Immediate past councilor of Phalga Ward 6, Hon. Peter Arimie of the PDP gave the indication while in a chat with The Newswriter Political Desk at the weekend, assuring all PDP stalwarts to maintain and remain faithful to the party.

Arimie, a grassroots mobilizer who spoke in strong terms predicted that 2015 general elections in Rivers will be peaceful against expectation, pointing out that the PDP is well and strategically positioned in all nooks and crannies of the state, and assiduously working to maintain its status.

The vibrant ex-local lawmaker while joining other Nigerians to congratulate the Party for its victory at Ekiti, called on all Rivers indigenes to be prepared to cast their votes for the ruling PDP since according to him, PDP is the only Party that considers all manners of citizens in its programmes.

It would be recalled that Hon. Arimie while in office had mobilized his colleagues and others at the grassroots for the PDP in Phalga Ward 6. Being a councilor with the mandate of the people through the PDP, he led other councilors to return to the ruling PDP as against the expectation and dictates of the then Mayor Chimbiko Akaralo.

He is particularly calling on the people of Phalga Ward 6 to resist all enticement and unprofitable offer that may come their ways, and stay glue to the PDP, describing his constituents as people with one voice, who would massively vote for the PDP.

Confirming the preparedness of his Party, the ruling PDP winning the 2015 general election in the state, Hon. Arimie maintained that, like the Ekiti State peaceful election, Rivers 2015 would be peaceful because the people at the grassroots have understanding of the Polity and which Political Party is more serious about its programmes and policies.

Giving further explanation on why the ruling PDP would win the 2015 in Rivers, he said that the PDP has majority of supporters in all the wards of the 23 local government areas.

Accordingly, he maintained that those who claim to be members of APC would sing a discordant tune after Gov. Amaechi must have vacated office soon.

It is on record that the APC controlled State of Ekiti was peacefully taken over by the PDP following a hitch free election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a situation that earned the confidence of the people on the electoral body. ###
