Fears grip the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and some of the members of his Executive Council as nine (9) pro-Amaechi lawmakers in the highly fractionalized Rivers State House of Assembly have began to hold secret talks with Rt. Hon. Evans Bipi, the leader of the six (6) anti-Amaechi lawmakers. If the nine (9) pro Amaechi legislators succeeded in their negotiations with the Evans Bipi’s faction and move over to join Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike and Hon. Felix Obuah, the stage will set for impeachment of the State governor, Rt. Hon. Amaechi in no distant time.
From what we reliably gathered, one of the conditions offered by the pro-Amaechi’s lawmakers is for them to return to the Assembly for second or third tenure.
Most of them have began to see the reality on ground, that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has no ground or base in Rivers politics.
With the ongoing political development, negotiations and conspiracy in the already divided House of Assembly time will tell what will happen in few months from now. ###
