Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke the spokesman of the International Association of World Peace Advocate has called on the United Nation UN to reciprocate Nigeria’s gesture on peace keeping mission in other nations to assist the country tackle Boko Haram sect.
Amb. Nkweke made the remarks, while addressing the mammoth crowd during the grand celebration of His Excellency Ban Ki-Moon UN Secretary General Birthday and award ceremony to 25 Nigerians at the Bayelsa State Government House, Yenagoa.
Amb. Nkweke who recalled several assistance Nigeria rendered to other UN countries on peace keeping mission such as Liberia, Britain, United kingdom, America, among others since she became a member of the UN noted that the UN support to Nigeria would go a long way to defeat the notorious Boko Haram insurgence.
According to him Nigeria is one of leading countries of the UN promoting peace in the United Nations countries advocating that UN should assist them to destroy the Boko Haram that have ravaged the country for the past six years.
Amb. Nkweke who is also known as Mr. Vote count due to his advocate for free and fair election commended women for their role in the nation building.
According to him Nigerian women have played important roles to ensure peace in the country participate actively more than their male counterparts in elections, praying for the nation when the need arises among others suggesting that women should be allowed to lead the nation in 2019.
In his goodwill message, HRM, Sir. G.G Igodo the chairman Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers while congratulating H.E Banki-Moon for his birthday anniversary in Bayelsa else noted that the major threat to world peace was inter and intra national conflicts and advocated for individuals participation to ensure peace in the communities, state, nation for the development of the country.
He commended the efforts made by the United Nations over the years for contributing immensely to reduce global conflicts.
He recalled the abduction of over 200 school girls by the Boko Haram sect and prayed that the nightmare of the school girls should come to an end to enjoy the global peace.
In his speech, HRH Eze Amb Dr. J.A Utchal in his goodwill message congratulated Banki-Moon on his 70th birthday celebration.
The 94 years man who is also the Senior Special Adviser to the World Peace President on Traditional Rulers joined his family members, friends and other peace loving Nigerians to wish him longlife, prosperity, and good working environment.
In their separate speeches those who received the eminent Peace Ambassador Award at the ceremony such as Amb. Chris Asadu, Amb. Shola, Amb. Austin Orji, Amb Jude Onwusoye Amb. Ejike Methosele among others while expressing joy for the award assured that they would not relent in promoting peace in their domains to ensure development in their areas and Nigeria at large. ###
