Project Execution: How Amaechi Deceived Rivers People

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it’s disheartening that rather than concentrate on quality service to the people, Governor Chibuike Amaechi and his political aides have chosen to play politics with serious issues of development and welfare of the people.

To make up for this self deceit and betrayal of trust, the party notes, they have resorted to claiming credit for all the development efforts of past leaders of the state.

The party stated this while reacting to a radio news report credited

to Governor Amaechi’s Agriculture Commissioner, Emmanuel Chinda who listed the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road, as one of Amaechi’s projects. A statement by the State PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah and signed by his Special Adviser, Media, Jerry Needam said the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road remains one of the legacies of former State Governor, Sir Dr. Peter Odili who conceived the idea, designed the road and executed the project to 99% completion.

The Party regrets that the only legacy being left by Amaechi is the

wanton squandering of the huge resources of the state on sponsorship of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

It’s also more worrisome, the PDP notes, that instead of advising him properly and, or calling him to order in case he has gone berserk, the like of the Agric Commissioner, Emmanuel Chinda take advantage of their positions to flatter their boss simply to cury his favour and approval for their political ambitions.

“Rather than basking in reflected glory brought about by past leaders that meant well for the state, Amaechi and his false supporters should be bold enough to show the people the particular projects initiated and completed by the incumbent administration and particularly, any major achievement since they decamped to the APC,” the PDP demands.

And to Mr. Emmanuel Chinda, the party warned, should not mix up his House of Representatives ambition for which he desperately wants Governor Amaechi’s approval with serious issues of development and welfare of the people which are too important and sacrosanct to be sacrificed on the altar of inordinate ambition and falsehood.
