Rivers Environmental Authority Lauds Rumuomasi Market Traders

Graphic1A team of the Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority that recently visited the premises of Rumuomasi Market in Obio/Apor LGA of the state, has lauded the cleanliness of the entire market and however, commended the market traders and Exco members of the market union, for a job well done and enjoined other market unions and traders in the state, to follow suit.

Responding on the neatness of the market, Mr. Leonard Onyekachi Anyanwu, chairman, Rumuomasi Market Union, disclosed that the idea was their collective resolve that followed the biblical teaching which states that cleanliness is next to Godliness, believing that it will be better for them to prevent a disease or sickness, than going to the hospital for treatment.

Anyanwu further disclosed that on assumption of office in 2011, he ensured that the entire market was protected through fixing of gates in all the market entrances and mounting of a sign post that informs both traders and visitors about the market activities.

On his challenges, Anyanwu opined that the most difficult thing to manage in life are human beings, adding that the non availability of parking space for customers was another challenge that the market was being faced with, before his emergence as the chairman of the market union.

The Union boss was glad to state that a parking space which was provided by his administration has indeed boosted the level of sales in the market. Anyanwu, who used the medium to applaud the state governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi for his developmental strides in the state, describe the governor as the best that the state has ever produced in the last 30 years, and also commended the Obio/Akpor Local Government Chairman, Prince Timothy Nsirim for providing quality structures at the market.

Anyanwu, who described market as a place for all and sundry, urged members to desist from the act of hear-say and to always verify information before passing it on to others, while thanking all the traders for their support in moving the market forward.
