The Director of Total Sports, Leon Ukandu, has again sponsored 7 Rivers and 12 Imo players to the Emmanuel Amunike managed Golden Eaglets.
Mr. Leon Uknadu had earlier sponsored 19 players from Rivers, when he single handedly sponsored Coach Emmanuel Amunike to personally conduct the two days open screening at Liberation and Sharks Stadia last month.
Speaking to The Newswriter sports, Mr. Leon Ukandu, said his untiring and undying effort of supporting the national junior football team is the love he has for his country, and the youths. He maintained that he will not stop at nothing till the Nigerian youths are harvested into the main stream of international soccer.
Speaking further he said Emmanuel Amunike is his friend, so the only way he could support both the country, the youths and Amunike is to sponsor an open screening exercise so as to allow all budding hidden teenage soccer talents discovered into international limelight.
The young enterprising sports enthusiast disclosed that he wishes to partner with the Rivers State sports ministry as he has the wherewithal to kit both Sharks and Dolphins.
Leon Ukandu is based in China and has a good relationship with most of the sports kits manufacturers all over the world, said he has what it takes to promote sports in Rivers State, apart from kitting team Rivers and the two soccer teams sponsored by the Rivers State government.
He said he looks forward to partnering with the Rivers State government with the view of supporting and developing sports in Rivers State. He noted that Rivers State is blessed with abundant soccer talents, apart from soccer he believes Rivers State could rule Nigeria sports if care is taken to harness the potentials littered in the entire state. ###
