Rescue The Abducted School Girls

It is very sad to note that three weeks after the kidnap of no fewer than 267 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State, the Nigerian security agencies are yet to know their whereabout. This is a shame on the Nigerian security system.

Just on Monday, the terrorist Islmaic sect, Boko Haram has claimed the responsibility for the missing of the girls. The missing girls were the final year students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, most of them aged 16 to 18.

In his recent broadcast, the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau as quoted by the Agence France-Presse threatened to sell off the abducted girls, saying that the girls were seized because they were seeking western education. According to Shekau, “western education is sin, it is forbidden, and the women must go and marry”.

These abducted girls are future mothers and leaders of tomorrow, therefore no nation toils with its future leaders, if it wants to advance in science and technology.

Nobody knows what has become of them in the hands of these faceless abductors. We know that the parents of the abducted girls are going through hell on earth. The ugly situation will give them pains. We use this medium to sent a passionate appeal to the various security agencies in the country to spread their security tentacles now that the Americans and Western governments are ready to assist so as to rescue the abducted school girls.

We sympathize with the parents of missing female students as they are waiting for their return.###
