The newly elected chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Solomon Ikeguru said his executive will work as a team with the party leadership in the state in 2015 General Elections across the nation.
Hon. Ikeguru made the remark while in a chat with journalists shortly after the APC Local Government congress election at Rumuigbo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Hon. Ikeguru who expressed gratitude to God and for emerging the chairman of APC in Obio/Akpor LGA disclosed that he has been dreaming of the opportunity and now that he had won he is prepared to take the party in the area to the next level, assuring that APC will win all the political positions in all levels of government.
He commended Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers State for his developmental strides across the 23 LGAs in Rivers State stressing that Governor Amaechi has brought positive changes in the state with his infrastructural developments, good roads, electricity, building of schools, health centres among others.
He called on the party members in Obio/Akpor to be steadfast and support his executive and the leadership of the party to achieve their goal.
Elder Chikwele Njo a staunch member of APC in Obio/Akpor while in a chat with journalists described the congress as free and fair, stressing that the peaceful conduct of the election as well as the large turn up of the APC members at the election prove that APC will rule the state in 2015.
He attributed the mass defection of the PDP members to APC to developmental strides of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in all sectors across the LGAs and commended governor Amaechi for making APC members proud.
Similarly, in a chat with journalists at the election venue Amb. Otis Asonye the APC Public Relations Officer in the LGA, while expressing satisfaction for the peaceful conduct of the election, expressed optimism that APC will rule Rivers State in 2015.
The Party’s PRO who noted that APC is on ground in the state and has taken over the entire nation enjoined party members to be more committed and vote APC in the forthcoming general election in 2015.
Meanwhile, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, the lawmaker representing Andoni/Opobo constituency in the federal House of representatives has expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the APC congress in Rivers State.
Hon. Peterside who in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt during the congress election noted that the large turnout of members at the election proved that APC has been accepted in Rivers State, expressing optimism that APC will sweep the polls in the forthcoming general election in 2015.
He commended members of the APC in his LGA for electing credible leaders that will take the party to the next level and enjoined the new executive to work in harmony to achieve their goal. ###
