A Port Harcourt based sports enthusiast and philanthropist, chief Sir. Ernest Elochukwu has said that, Nigeria’s main problem is to manage and harness the talents in the country.
Chief Elochukwu made this assertion while speaking with The Newswriter sports during the week in a telephone chat, saying that Nigeria is blessed with abundant of soccer talents but those in the helm of affairs lack the managerial acumen and harnessing ability to enhance the abundant of soccer to successful limelight.
The soft outspoken sports enthusiast also comment on the new relationship between Keshi and Nigeria informed striker, Osaze Odenwinge, positing that, that is how it should be. “It is Keshi that is taking the players to the world cup, at such he (Keshi) is their manager and not the players managing Keshi.
He also applauded Odewinge for doing the right thing by apologizing to work with Keshi for the sake of Nigeria.
He however stressed the need for Nigerians and the Nigeria football federation to allow Keshi to do his job without interference, reason being that it is Keshi that is taking the players to the world cup, hence he should be allowed to work with his best frame of mind, pointing out that, he should be given free hands to pick his choice players rather than being pressured to include a player who is not his choice player.
“Nigeria problem is management and harnessing of soccer talents, because great talent are littered all around the country, which any great coach could always make name with any day anytime, if such coach could only know his onions”. ###
