The Supervising Minister of Education and Leader of Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike said the main target of PDP is to capture the Government House 2015 by winning the governorship election.
Barr. Wike made this known during a thanksgiving service of the party at Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.
The Hon. Minister pleaded with those who are contributing to the growth of the party to be steadfast and that the party will reward all those who are working for its success.
The leader of PDP in the state lamented how Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi ran away with the mandate the Rivers People gave him in 2011 to APC, but hope that the Peoples Democratic Party must take its mandate back by 2015.
He warned that those the governor planted in PDP as mischief makers and spies should beware because they know all of them. On those who will be flagbearers of the party, Barr. Wike stated that only qualified, disciplined and competent party members will be allowed to flag the flag of the party.
The Minister maintained that those who want to join the party are free to do so only if they would not pass through the window because those who pass through the window will be thrown out.
In his welcome address, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro. Felix Amaechi Obuah warned Governor Chibuike Amaechi for the loans he is collecting when his administrations has barely one year in office and wondered why the governor will embark on obtaining series of loans since the year begins.
Bro. Obuah said the several loans taken by Governor Amaechi are to finance the APC which runs into billions of naira thereby mortgaging the future of Rivers people.
He stated categorically that the Governor has collected N100 billions from the capital market, then taken N30 billions from savings and now another N50 billion, warning banks granting the loans to be careful.
The party chairman said since his executive took over the affairs of the party a year ago there have been effective service delivery especially the provisions of 23 brand new buses for mobilization to the various LGAs in the state.
He tasked PDP loyalists to continue to work until Dr. Goodluck returns to Aso Rock, PDP takes back Government House, win the 3 Senatorial Seats, win the 213 House of Representatives, win the 32 House of Assembly seats in the state, capture the 23 Local government chairmen and all the 319 councillorship seats.
Others who gave solidarity messages include Chief Sergeant Awuse who stated that PDP was dead before the revolution that brought those who were chased out back into the fold. “Amaechi chased most of the founding fathers of PDP because we insist the right thing should be done”, he said.
He also join others to warn banks who are given out loans to Governor Amaechi saying that they would bear the risk when the time comes.###
